Some questions about the xr8s that are puzzling me, hope some of you guys can shed some light.

The AUXR8 has 185kW at the engine and the AUII and AUIII each have 220kW. What is it that makes the 35kW difference and how do the models compare over sprint times ?

Would the AUXR8 respond equally as well if it was supercharged as would the later models ? Overall are there big differences between the cars in other aspects besides performance ?

I believe AUII were 200kw only.

Both AUII and AUIII XR8 sedans had 220kW

AUII up until JUNE 2001 had 200. THen they got the 220KW motor and standard side skirts. If it has the 220 Motor a badge will be placed under the XR8 one on the boot, and it will be after June 2001 build.

OH and i forgot to mention they got colour coded mirrors when the 220 was introduced.

AUII pre 220 has six stack.

One I was thinking of was a 200kw, AUII, no skirts. Hard to not get colour coded mirrors on black.

As far as visual differences:

AUI XR8

Star shaped 17" Ford Alloys
Single Grille and "Smiling" Air Dam
Unhooded inner head light intakes
If Full Tickford Body Kit was added there were triangular edge pieces fitted between each side of the wheel arch.
Single Stop Light under rear spoiler
Double Gull Rear Wing option
Coloured Side Indicators and rear blinkers

AUII XR8

Car was lowered from AUII onwards
Revised front end with hooded inner headlamp intakes
"Venetian Blind" Grille
Square Air Dam intake shape that was smaller and complemented by "dummy" brake intakes
Full Tickford Body Kit was revised to a more conservative look
Tickford Badged 17" Alloy Wheels
Stop light mounted across the rear edge of the spoiler
Clear rear blinker lights
Rear End was revised with the "Falcon" font moved from the left of the number plate to spread across the top.

AUII Late Edition XR8
Very late production AUII's featured clear side indicators
Colour Coded Mirrors
Option of the two-tone Peregrine Body Kit
Additional set of Tickford Wings added to the right of the rear number plate.
"XR8 220" Badging installed to the left of the rear number plate

AUII XR8 Rebel
Most options on standard AUII XR8's were standard fittings on the Rebels ie Peregrine Body Kit standard.
Featured 18 inch Tickford Speedline 9 spoke alloy wheels as standard
"Rebel" Badging on sideskirts

AUIII XR8
As Late Edition AUII XR8 with:
Two tone Peregrine Body Kit standard
Rear Tickford Wings replaced with "SERIES III" badging


AUIII XR8 Rebel
Final production version of the AU XR8's
All options on AUIII XR8 standard on AUIII Rebel.

The AUII (series 2 lol) 220kW got newer custom heads, new extractors, different cam, and a new tune of the EEC-V to get that figure.

Haha, Dark Horse none of them came with the tickford Badges on the right hand side of the boot, that was only T series cars.

And you couldnt get an AU III Rebel, it was only AUII.
