i know ford used a newer moddle of the 4 speed in later models, but what was the diffrences between the models.

Would a newer BTR95 bolt into an EA, and would the EA's seperate Auto ECU beable to control it?

No unfortunately the BTR 91/95LE needs a integrtaed engine/trans module. Some internals from the 91LE fit the 85LE and can be used to beef up the box. Most Ford Parts dealers and Auto trans places know what bits.

I have done this, on my eb1 and put in a ed box it works fine, the only different thing was that the auto computer was intergrated with the computer.

what sort of mods were required to make the new ECU work? Introduction of smartlock and a rewireing of the dash / trans loom
