Hey, I'm looking at a wagon with a T5 and a LSD, I was wondering if the tail shraft fits a sedan, Oh we are talking XF, Well basically if its the same stuff and if it all fits.
I dont think it would. The wagon is based on the longer platform and since the engine, gearbox and diff are basically the same I would have to assume the tail shaft would be longer to suit.
I thought the diff was different due to the wagon having a leaf sprung rear end while the sedan used watts link coil springs?
Although i could be wrong...

I am guessing but the utes and wagons would share the same size tail shaft wouldnt they? Along with the Fairlaine/LTD variants. The sedan is shorter so it has to be the shorter tail shaft.
The tailshafts are different length, the diff centres are the same, the diff/axle housings are different. So everything can be swapped from one to the other without too much hassle.
NO to diff - because mounting points for the suspension are different, but all internals are swapable so you could acheive a swap that way, or get the mounting points swapped from one to the other.
YES to Grearbox, reatain your tail shaft in the sedan.

The tail shaft in my sedan is for the 4 speed and the one out of the wagin in for the t5 that im puting in. can i unbolt the end which fits into the grearbox off the wagin one and put it on my sedan one?
YES - they will line up, they should both have 4 bolts holding the UNI joint, or is it 6, in any event should be the same diameter and spacing and same number of bolt holes :0).
