drum to disc conversion - help needed!!

Hi all,

Just wondering what is involved in converting rear drum brakes of a xy to a discs?

Also does anyone know how hard it is to change a 9" disc brake diff to drums?

Which is cheaper?

thanks

Brendan

Re: drum to disc conversion - help needed!!

Depends on the diff in both cases, and the discs you want to put on the XY. Axles are typically different between disc and drum, and baking plates on the 9" will give you grief also.

If the 9" has the double row ball bearing, then none of it will fit another housing. If you are trying to fit XA/B/C/D 48mm piston integral handbrake ventilated, then you might get it with axle mods and a hand fabricated carrier bracket. Need to know exactly which discs off which diff you wish to use.
