Hi all

I have a Series II Ea and I am having trouble with my gearbox, 4sp Auto, I continually slips gears and going through fluid almost daily, Would I be better getting another gearbox or would it be better getting it repaired. Any comments appreciated

the 4speed autos were notorious for their unreliability, when they first came out, taxi drivers had so much trouble with them (and the repair bills were huge at that time) that they simply replaced the 4 speed with the old reliable XF 3speed.

i think an EBII or ED gearbox might be the way to go, depending on quotes to get your current gearbox repaired

how difficult is it to fit an xf gearbox, does it need any modifications
