hey guys sorry i havent been on for a bit but ive been tinkering a little lowering my falcon but my girl has been takin most of my time anyway ive had a small problem my clutch cable tore a nice hole in my freakin firewall i only found out it was a common problem about a week before i noticed i couldnt change gears almost at all i dodgyed it up with part of a jack acting as the new sleeve for now but what i want to know is did any e-series come with a hydraulic clutch or was it all cable? im thinking if they didnt ill probably use a hilux system instead well anyway any help would be great

same happened to me last week......firewall on both sides has a crack and gears are getting harder to change by the day.
I havent been bothered doing anything at the moment as i have no $$$ but i believe ford make a plate that you weld on and this fixes the engine side but not the cabin side...

nuts eh.... oh well whats the story on this plate your talkin about should i just ask a ford parts department or will i have to get it from a specialist place?
i hope ya done something bout the crack man itll get worse and youll have no clutch at all even doin what i did till you can get the cash is better than nothin all you need is a jack and a hacksaw and a drill and maybe a file

if you can get this plate please let me know where you got it from and what is cost you or if any one has one of them a picture or drawing would be great as mine has broken the mount all the way through and is now sitting on the cable and i have a hole in the firewall
ok yeah there was a feild fix part for the manual falcon i did some diggin and asked the parts interpreter at work and yeah he gave me the number for a place that should know if the plate is still available its coventry auto parts in lidcombe i think.
i got all the details at work ill post em tomorrow.

i fixed mine by taking the piece out and wielding it to a 6m plate and screwing it back on the wall works really well andthe only thing you have to disconnect is the clutch cable
i will post a picture of it if anyone wants it
