EA diff ratio's

What's the 'tallest' diff ratio that's available for the EA diff housing?
I'd be needing something like a 3.7 or thereabouts.

The btr diff's go right up to arround 5.3:1. Cominly avalable 4.11:1 from the 4cly pintara can go into the EA housing

Ive been described as a vault of usless random knowledge.

Ill take it as a complement i think.............

at the risk of sounding like a smart ass 'taller' usually means 2.92 or so - smaller numbers = taller ratio, 'shorter' gearing is like 3.7...

anyway, i think most crownwheel and pinion setups from the skylines will fit, also 4 cyl cortina diffs are apparently 3.7 and they fit too.

tryHERE for a little more info - you should be at home :D

With those diffs, does it matter how many pinions and splines, or if you get any of those diffs, could you bung it in?

Let me know what the deal is when you find out...I was gonna get a diff place to put 3.9s in, but if i can get a nissan diff and just swap, that will turn out HEAPS cheaper!

Wink Re Diffs

You can fit an XE upwards complete diff housing into the EA-EB series with only a couple of mods, like changing the Tail shaft yoke and altering the bracket where the handbrake cable fits.

I fitted a EB complete diff under my ZL Fairlane and this is all I had to do.

The complete job only took two hours so very little work to fit.

The Skyline centers do fit the Borgwarner diffs but depending on ratio's yo have to get the carrier as well.

"Fords R Tuff"

"Big Blocks" make them Tuffer.

You can beat Horsepower but you can't beat Cubic Inches.

Fords came out with Big Engine bays, Fill them with a "Big Block"
That's the way they should have been.

you cant just swap the whole diff, we are talking about the gears inside it here - all the spring and shock mounting points are different between falcon skyline and commo!
