i have a set of 3.9 gears on the way from melbourne at the moment, i think from a borg warner in a skyline, they should fit but i dunno yet - i bloody hope they do!!!

Let me know what the deal is when you find out...I was gonna get a diff place to put 3.9s in, but if i can get a nissan diff and just swap, that will turn out HEAPS cheaper!
You can fit an XE upwards complete diff housing into the EA-EB series with only a couple of mods, like changing the Tail shaft yoke and altering the bracket where the handbrake cable fits.
I fitted a EB complete diff under my ZL Fairlane and this is all I had to do.
The complete job only took two hours so very little work to fit.
The Skyline centers do fit the Borgwarner diffs but depending on ratio's yo have to get the carrier as well.

you cant just swap the whole diff, we are talking about the gears inside it here - all the spring and shock mounting points are different between falcon skyline and commo!
