anyone put a hydraulic clutch in an EA?

i was thinkin of runnin it... but making the hydraulics run a small straight cable to the thrust bearing instead of changing it all together...

any ideas anyone?

What's so bad about the cable setup, apart from the firewall cracking, which will happen with a hydraulic setup as well.

I have to agree, my olds have a hydraulic clutch on their AU, and I MUCH prefer mine...

Helps build those left leg muscles. lol

just re-lube up your clutch cable will be good for another year =)

lol ok thanks... i think in my cars lifetime the firewall has already been torn apart... heavy duty clutch in mine as well... might just put a new cable in and see what the story is... if i made it part hydraulic to a straight cable, the straight cable would never incur any wear... and in theory could be made quite easily?

ah well... i think not worth the $$$ anywayz

AU's still use cable clutches......

Putting oil in the cable is what stuffs them in the first place, they already have a grease inside them that will last for years. If the clutch is getting stiff, have a look at the clutch pedal itself, and make sure the cable going into the pedal and connecting to the fork arm is as straight as possible.

I'd honestly say there's SFA difference to the driver. I've driven both and until you pop the bonnet or look at the cable you couldn't tell. Only difference is you replace the cable in cable clutches, you bleed hydraulic ones. Not worth the effort or money IMO, unless you're putting a Supra box in or something.

Don't see why not, get a solenoid out of a starter motor. A BIG starter motor.

Uptake mightn't be very smooth though
