hi, can anyone tell me if theres a difference between a 5speed used in the EA S and EB2 (apart from ratio) ? I can get one cheap to put behind my 5.0L but i'm unsure if there were any differences to strength.

I'm seriously considering converting my ebII 5litre ghia to a manual.... Ive got my hands on a gearbox, pedalbox and interior stuff. My shopping list includes clutch&pressure plate, clutch cable and bellhousing... have i missed anything ??

Ive been told i can use the existing tailshaft but what i'm unsure of is if the flywheel will need changing.... will the clutch assembly bolt up to the existing flywheel?

Also if someone out there has a workshop manual showing the procedure for removing and installing the pedalbox... i would really appreciate them scanning it and sending it to me... PLEASE !!! hehe

i have done the conversion,the pedal box is not that hard to do however there are two bolts connecting the pedal box to the bulkhead behind the instrument cluster,which requires the whole dash assembly to be taken out and resting on the two front seats,then pull the old pedal box towards the windscreen.

Just a question? Your not thinking of putting a gearbox from a 4.0l behind a 5.0l because the input shafts are different.

the gearbox is from a 3.9L... and as far as i'm aware the only differences are ratio.... but i'm willing to be proved wrong.

if you can find the thread I6 T5 vs. V8 T5 it will tell you that the input shafts are 30mm longer on the 5.0l
