I purchased one of those leather boots so i can rid of my horrible rubber pyramid thingy...one question though....
HOW DO YOU PUT IT ON???

where are ya up to? coz its as easy as takin the knob off and pulling the pyramid and plastic bit up.. then putting the leather thing in its place, and back on.. and puttin the knob back on.

What you need to do is (CAREFULLY) drill holes in the platic part at the bottom of the boot to allow it to slip onto the guides comming off the shifter console...mine took a little fiddling around with but i got it just rite in the end...

I've got the leather boot on my Fairmont, and it looks so much better than the plastic monstrosity.

dont worry kerry , these ford ones are not leather , they are only vinyl.....

I went to Ford yesterday, and they had none in Qld, so hopefully there will be some in Vic.
