I've got a 94 ED with a busted auto gearbox and I want to get it sorted.

Whats involved in the change over??
What sort of $$$$ do these things go for??

Speaking of ED Auto's. they all feel the same the ones i have driven. The motor takes a while to redline. but compared to a VX commodore i would prefer the ED over it anyday. I find they are much more relaxing to drive. Steering is much lighter.

what is actualy wrong with it? are you talking bout getting a new auto, or changing 2 a manual?

I have ED auto. If i were you id be looking at what it is going to cost to convert to manual!!!
I like the gear box, but it takes way too much time to get above 3000rpm.

Good strong auto boxes tho!!! and real nice to cruise, not saying i do much crusin :) :)

Yeah man thats what im talking about. even with a boot full its like a truck. it sounds good.

The current box is missing 2nd. You can feel the jump from 1st to 3rd. If you change the gears manually nothing happens when you change it from 1 to 2. But then changes when you move it to 3.

Not sure I want to go through the pain of a full manual conversion. I do allot of highway cruising up here in the Territory so I would probably prefer the auto.

About $2500. You may be able to get yours fixed for less than that, best to go to a tranny joint and ask them to check the damage to yours.

could just be a faulty soloniod on yours. Get it checked out first, could save you a few thousand....

A fairly common prob on those is the band which is used in 2nd and 4th wears away to nothing and takes the c3 drum with it..
