I was wondering if there is any difference between a stock EF auto and an EF XR6 auto. Are the trans computers the same?

The reason that i am asking i that a mate of mine can get a hold of a XR6 auto and he was wondering if it is worth the effort to swap it over and if it can be done easily.

Any advise is appretiated.

i think they are pretty much the same, have u thought about an electronic shift kitting for yours?

the trans computers are inside the ecu (the only models that have external trans computers are ea's and v8's) and im sure the settings would be the same.

my opinion is that it would be worth the time and money to do a swap, unless yours is stuffed

I've got an AU and I was going to build a shift kit from the diagrams fom mechanicalforums.com but I would ready like to get a dual stage one, the problem is that I'm not sure how to build it.
