What can anyone tell me about the diff in my EL 5 speed Futura?

I'm lead to believe that it is a BW 78 series, and I know its 3.25:1 ratio. The reason I'm asking is my old VL that used to have a BW 78 series and i converted to an LSD using a center from an XD Fairmont diff has probably been writen off. I want to know If i can fit this center in the EL diff housing.

The center In the VL is a BW 78 series 25 spline. I have a bad feeling the EL is a 28 spline. Can any one shed some light on this?

the manuals had a 3.23:1 ratio, 4 pinion centre with 28 spline axles...
