hey all, took my car to the place that done its roadworthy this morning because my exhaust has been knocking recently, well i thought it was my exhaust

they rekon its the bush on the front uni-joint thats worn and they want around $250 to fix, i think thats a stupid price to pay to replace a bush, i figure it cant be that hard to do myself,

so whats involved in doing a job like this? can i replace the bush with something slightly better?

not shure what kind of yoke is on an el gearbox. basically you will need a gregorys manual. it will tell you how to replace the uni joint. dont attempt it if you dont feel confident in doing it.

Mate, its easy to do.

All you need to do is remove the circle clips and punch out the caps. When the new unis go in, just make sure all the clips are sitting correctly in the slots. Should cost around $20-30.

If you you don't want to change the joint yourself, I have bought tailshafts for $25 from wreckers complete, so just do that.

DONT PAY $250!!!
