Hi Guys.
I have just found an EL XR8 Instrument Cluster, the one with the Tickford Logo on it.

I just need some Info about em

1) Is the Logo on the Speedo, or Tacho Guage
2) Is the Speedo any different - (I.E. Higher Top Speed > 220 KMPH ????)

Also Does any one have a pic of how these clusters Look ??
Im mainly trying to work out what the differences are between the XR Models, and the Fairmont Models.

The Guy wants to sell it for $300. I am not interested in it, because of the Fairlane Cluster I have now, but a Friend of mine is, and wants to know what the differences are ?

1. The Speedo goes to 220km/h
2. Redline is at 5 1/2 x 1000 RPM
3. Tickford Logo is on the speedo (but it does not light up with the rest of the cluster when the lights are on, which makes it seem abit of an after thought to me.)

Hey matt, on your site you have instructions on making ur dash neon blue... well...

While it is cool to do it your way, with the LED's and all, there is any easier, and cheaper (I think its cheaper ).

A while back... Autobahn or Repco had these funky little silicon covers for the light bulbs themselves.

from memory, i think they were only a couple of dollars for four or so dollars, for 6 covers i think.

Also, i was thinking... Would it be possible to use paper (In the same way you changed the LCD colors) to change the dash colors?? granted it mind need a bt of work to change the needle color, but could you stick the paper to the backside of the dash face??

This way aswell you could cut around the "Orange line" on the tacho, and, if you wanted to, put a different color there???

Would this still be roadworthy????

The condoms for your light bulbs can do the same lame effect as painting your own bulbs. They a) look crap, b) give you a faint wrong colour, and c) burn out over time.

The LEDS dont *ever* blow unless your somehow incredibly clumsy.. lol!

And once again for paper, paper infront of hot bulbs does what? burns :) so becareful because it'll happen if u try it, i know because i gave it a go ..

If you dont think your confident enough to do the blue/red/green/yellow dash, ask Matt i think he sells prepared ones now for a 'fee' lol!

Good looking dash - Is your steering wheel the MOMO option?, I went to Ford a while ago and they still want over a thousand dollars for one, I saw one on EBAY a while ago and no-one had bid on it - saw it after it closed and first bid was only 300.00 (no reserve) boy was i spitting.

What did you do to the dash??

Yeah that's the optional Momo wheel, known as the "red-stitch" wheel. You can get one from Autospeed here for $453AU!!!!
