EL XR6, clutch???spigot bearing???

Just tried to replace the clutch in my '96 EL XR6. I always thought that the XR6's had the v8 box and clutch. The spare parts shops have the same part No. for V8 clutch and XR6 clutch. When I got the clutch kit home, the clutch plate was sloppy on the imput shaft. Checked it against the old one and the new one was slightly bigger. Went back to the parts shop and checked the standard 6 clutch. Geuss what, I must have the standard 6 box. Fist problem out of the way.
Second problem, I removed the spigot bearing and compared it with the new one I got. They were completely different. All the parts shops around here say that the one I took out looks nothing like any spigot bearing they have ever seen before. Is this some strange XR6 thing, do I have some wierd freak model? I also checked the standard 6 and V8 spigot bearings at the shop and they were all different to the one from my car. Now I'll have to wait untill Monday night to get one from Ford, hope they've got the right one. Anyone had this problem?

Clutch plate outside diameter is different, spline is the same. They gave you the wrong clutch plate. Ford run a nickel/monel carrier with an open roller bearing. Replacements are normally a sealed unit.

Yes the replacement was a sealed bearing, but that wasn't the only difference. The outside diameter was different and the thickness aws different, only the inside diameter was the same. Any ideas?
