EL XR8 Diff Into XF
sorry peoples, i have searched for the answer in previous threads and can't find it. i remember someone on this forum had put the EL XR8 diff (complete) into an XF and i am about to do the same (about 2 weeks) and want it to go smoothly. firstly, i have noticed that at the diff end of the tailshaft, it mounts differently to the XF so am i best to go to the wreckers and buy an EL tailshaft? is there a way of using my XF tailshaft? am i best to get the tailshaft balanced after the swap? (i'll be replacing the unis at the same time) any idea what the balancing costs? secondly, i recall who ever it was that had done it said that there is a difference in the rear calipers and how the handbrake works. i have the EL ones and would like to use them if i can. they said a bracket needed to be made or something like that. CAN THIS PERSON (or anyone who knows) COME FORWARD AND LET ME KNOW WHAT I WILL NEED TO DO BEFORE I DO THE CONVERSION?
cheers peoples.
