Would anybody be able to tell me what is involved? would the centers and axles be able to be swapped over?

Why not talk to your local Diff shop.
The XF and EL both ran the same 78 series borg warner rear end.
I dont see why they wont go in.
Just check the length of the axles.

if i remember correctly blo_gmh only had to alter the lower control arms for it to fit and he put the whole lot under disc to disc as u might aswell its easier or else u have to change the axels and centre due to the 28 spline xf to the 25 spline EL (i think or it might be the other way)
but xfs with these diffs flog E series

do u no if the diff in the el xr6 is the same as the one in the el xr8

nah Im not sure, but I was going to ask, will it be alright behind a 5spd and injected 5ltr?

yeah that diff will be good as cause im pretty sure they r the ones that run in the V8's aswell

they look the same so im gonna say really sure
