Hi guy,I have just taken delivery of my manual GT(awesome) and I want to install my Herrods Sure shifter gear lever to it.Is it something that I could do?(Im an engineer).There appears to be a plate which is bolted from the underneath of the car which needs to be removed to get at the shifter bolts.Or does the gearbox need to be lowered(ie undo the gearbox mount)to get to it?
Can any of you guys help?

I am unsure of how the BA's are!

Why dont you just ring rob and ask how much trouble it is, and next time hes doing it ona car can you go in and have a look!

wouldnt be no different to the au's,undo the gearbox crossmember,have the back of the box lower,then undo the old shifter and fit the new one from underneath...

Yea tried to fit it today and it appears I have a T5 shifter,so it wont fit on to the GTs tremec box,doh!
And I bought it in Ozzy when I was there 3 weeks ago and I live in NZ .Great!
The bolt pattern is the same but the bottom end of the lever(with the ball) sticks out to far,bugger.
Still deciding what to do.

the GT box is most definatley not a T5....well Im pretty sure

Isn't it from mexico or something?

XR8 and GT/GT-P use a different 'box. Everything else still uses the T5

There is a diff with the Au1 and Au2

not the gearboxes....yes they are different,arent the shifters the same tho,thats what i thought,au type t5 shifter should fit into tremec from gt....the t5 in an au is made by tremec.....so should fit

When the two are compared the Tremec shifter is 10mm shorter than the T5(from bottom of plate to center of ball).
Is there a 10mm spacer that I am missing?
