My AU falcon ute got stuck in first gear, now it's stuck in 5th and won't move. Clutch doesn't sound right either? Has just had new clutch installed. Any ideas?
Check the clutch cable they fray and break inside the car near the peddle. Also check where the cable goes through the firewall the firewall often cracks there. Then check the peddle box is not broken or bent.
Just to add to above post , get someone to operate clutch pedal whilst checking clutch fork movement will give you an idea if internal or external fault .
Also check the insulator at the clutch end of the cable; it the bit that sits in the clutch fork that the cable attaches to. The rubber fails so the metal attachment piece inside the rubber pulls out; partially initially. The part is no longer available from Ford but there is this aftermarket item Ford Falcon Cable Clutch Fork Arm Insulator (Hook) XR6 T5 XF-EA-EB-ED-EF-EL & AU | eBay
