Is there a good alternative out there on the market for this. Or am I better to just get the fluid from the dealer and keep in the ford recommended transmission / gear oil for my Manual Trans. I am not fond of the idea of $20 per quart to do a fluid change but I will if I have to in order to maintain a good working Transmission and to help preserve the transmission for a long life.
I have a 2005 Focus ZX4 5 speed..
It has 100,000 on it and time for a fluid change.
20 bucks a quart is kinda pricey for oil, by older standards, but it's still a heck of a lot cheaper than a transmission. I did look around, didn't see any approved replacements other than the Motorcraft brand.
