frothy diff oil help..

Hi all I have had a prob that when I stop acelerating at say 110kph the car slows down too much like its being held back by diff .Today I checked the oil and it had bubbles in it like a froth and yes it was brown....Hopefully this is the problem..what do you guys think?

Re: frothy diff oil help..

useless I reckon your diffs fine don't worry about the froth thats just the air being squeezed out of the oil by the gears. It wouldn't hurt to change the oil but I don't think this is causing the problem you describe the diff isn't holding the car back its just the auto hanging on to the lower gear a bit longer than you are holding the pedal to the metal. it takes a microsecond for you to shut the throttle down and a 100 microsends or more for the trans to shift up into third then overdrive 4th so it feels like its slowing down too much.

the trick is don't back off like you just heard a police siren behind you. that is unless it WAS a police siren behind you

Re: frothy diff oil help..

Oh by the way I always put down froth to too much oil or being overfilled.
