I'm after some advice for a manual gearbox in the XC.
(Not in the market for one right now... just asking)

Are Supra 5 speeds suitable for 351s? (or V8s in general).
I was under the impression that they where for smaller engines, but recently I've been questioning it.

I was originally after a 4 speed Top Loader, but they are a bit of a biatch to shift with, and I like the idea of a smooth shift from a newer box.

Ultimately though, I will go with what's better for 'down the track' grunt. So, your advice please...

dont write off the top loader! ive driven one with a hurst shifter and its allright, but then comparing the shift in a 70s ford truck gearbox compared to a japanese sports car gbox is a bit unfair lol

yeah the supra 5 speed is ok, castlemain rod shop has a conversion kit for the clevo to suit it including everything upto pedal box and pedals, a mate of mine has 1 to put into a zb fairlane with a 351c.
