Hello. Sorry to make my first post here such a sticky one.
I have a 92, EB XR8, which I love but has turned out to be a bit of a lemon.
Two weeks ago the gear box packed it in, turns out that some doofus who had the car in the past has replaced the the V8 box with one from a V6. To make it fit they have had the input selector cut and welded, which sheared off two weeks ago starting this whole saga.
I should have done my homework before I bought the car because it turns out that a Borg-Warner box for a 302 Windsor is just about rarer than rocking horse poo.
The *only* box I've been able to find for sale is $2,600 and badly in need of a full overhaul.
At this stage my best option is looking like getting it converted to auto, something I would rather avoid.
Does anyone have any advice for me? I could really use it.
