tcct Registered User Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: singapore Posts: 2	gearbox whine? hi all. i'm driving a fiesta lx with the durashift box ... now into 23000km. noticed a soft (but definitely there) humming sound from the front of the car at speeds 70 - 90km/h. sound is gone at lower speeds. wondering if anyone else has the same problem. thanx in advance!

Fordtech. Registered User Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: UK Posts: 688	Re: gearbox whine? Could be a wheel-bearing, to diagnose the vehicle needs to be off the ground, in neutral spin one wheel with a hand on the strut, any roughness felt just on one strut will indicate wheel-bearing failure.
