Can anyone tell me what type of gearboxes these are?

The silver one is bolted up to a 302 cleveland and the red one is on a 289 windsor

They both look like C4's to me.

Hard to see red one but yeh, look like c4's.

fmx's have a cast body, and bellhousing bolts are different to c4, etc.

It's a very common mistake to make, but the transmission's in question are C5's. The C4 bellhousing bolt's up in common with the pump. Where as the C5's bellhousing bolt's up individually. Other than that and a few extra clutch's their the same.

Depends what country you are in. In Australia we only have C4/9/10's.

All the same box. The only differences are through the revisions they changed the dipstick entry and the bellhousing.

Also got C6's but they are BB boxes.

Are you saying that in "Austrailia' you can only get a C6 behind a big block? Here in the state's we've got them for 300-6cyl's, 302W , just about everything.

Yup only behind 460BB's in Aust. Even then we don't have very many cars running around with 460BB's. Very rare.

Man that's tough. Up until a few year's ago I was tripping over them in my shop. Their getting a little harder to find for the small block's, but real plentiful for the big block. The unit made for the big six work's for the Windsor motor's. You just have to add clutch's to handle the additional torque.

There are C6's here in Oz behind small blocks mostly in 351 F100's and bronco's.
