There always seems to be alot of confusion surrounding which Falcon came with which diff, etc, so I thought maybe it could be a good idea to get some sort of organised list going.

Unfortunately, due to my limited knowledge of Falcon diffs, I'm going to need some help from some of you guys. So, what ratios, centers and axles came with which Falcons?

From what I know;

EA Falcon - Auto - 3.23:1 - 28 spline
EA Falcon - Manual - 2.92:1 - 28 spline
-Fairmont and S Pack came with LSD centers

I'm not entirely sure if the above is accurate. I also believe some Falcons came with oddball ratios, I have heard of manual EAs coming out of the factory with 3.23:1 ratios. Anyone know what the deal is with this?

I think it would be cool if we could compile a complete table of Falcon diffs, and maybe a short article on other diffs that will fit Falcons. I believe Skyline axles and centers fit Falcons?

EA GHIA 3 speed auto = 2.77 LSD - 25 spline i believe as well

Generally speaking, 3 speed EAs and late X series cars had the 2.77, manuals had the 2.92, EA 4 speeds had the 3.08 (or 3.23), and only Ghias and LTDs had LSD - all were 25 spline.

EB II had 3.27 and 28 spline but ED went back to 3.08, where I believe the base six has remained ever since (unfortunately). All XR6s have 3.45 LSD, and V8s are 3.23 I believe.

Nice, I was under the impression that there were no 3.27's and only 3.23's until I check my EB the other day. Maybe my EB will be a tad quicker off the mark than my old ED.

My EAII Ghia 4spd was 3.23:1 LSD
My EBII Fairmont was 3.27:1 Single Spinner
and my AUII is an LSD, but has no tag, so no idea of ratios. Does anyone know what LSD ratios came out with the AUII coz I'd love to know what mine is.

Would be a 3.23 unless its an XR then it would be a 3.45

Actually, the XR6 LSD only came standard until the AUII, after that it was an option. So some late AUII and many AUIII XR6's had a 3.45 single spinner. All XR6 VCT's were LSD!

My XE Falcon ute - 2.92:1 single spinner(turned into a detroit locker)
My EBII Fairmont Ghia - 3.27:1 LSD
My EFII Falcon GLi - 3.27:1 single spinner
My AUIII TE50 - 3.45:1 LSD

All T-Series had the 3.45:1 LSD (AUI, AUII and AUIII)

i use to have a 3.23 single spinner and i have an S pack... now i have a EB 28 spline 3.27 LSD diff out of a fairmont...

btw i have 4 speed auto.
