Ive had my car for abit over a year now, still going strong, aswell as the tapping tappets! But just asking those with manuals, how heavy is your clutch? mine is like doing a leg press everytime i change the gears!!!
And also it has to be on the floor to change gears, and sometimes having trouble to get into reverse...
There was a problem with my firewall cracking but that fixed now, maybe its the rubber thing that sits b4 thefirewall? It mite get heat from the engine and be more spongey and cause less pull on the cable?
But yeah the clutch is heavy as a prik! Do most of them come out heavy, or is mine aftermarket? how do i tell?
Thanx fella'z,
Ray

Mine was heavy as all crap when i first got it. A month later sanpped a clutch cable, 60 odd bucks later, its still like very hard to other cars i've driven, but is alot softer then before i got the cable replaced.

I've had an unbeleiveable amount of troubles with my clutch/firewall etc, but its fixed now.
You say that your cracked firewall has been fixed. If it has, then try adjusting the clutch by Pulling the clutch cable out as far as it goes then sliding the bolt up a little till your clutch engages where you want it. It may take some trial and error to get the clutch to feel how you want it. That should hopefully fix your reverse problem.
Again, if your firewalls cracking still, unless you get it fixed, it will keep on going back to heavy again as the firewall cracks more, so make sure it has been fixed properly before you go adjusting.
Cheers,
You will notice that when you get a new clutch it will always feel lighter than it did beforehand anyway, as everything is clean and well lubricated (throw out bearing, clutch fingers etc). So dont be surprised if it is lighter cos it naturally will be, in time it will get heavy again. This is most noticeable with smaller cars that already have light clutches as it sometimes feels your not pushing anything when you push the clutch pedal.
The Falcon clutches are pretty damned heavy but I think most people become acustomed to it cos after around a month of owning my EA I was used to it and found it normal. Even with the XR I found it quite easy to get used too.

I WILL NOT have it any other way, my mates all drive piss weak 4 cyl shit things withlight as a feather clutches and i just can handle them, they have no feel whatsoever and i cant drive them smoothly. I love having feel in the clutch and thats what i love about my car. Id ask for another heavy clutch again when mine dies
Mmm, driving the KA today, I noticed just how much it sucks to have no torque..
In third, it has a little pull, if that.. but the difference between tapping the throttle and WOT is piss all, it just doesn't pull after 40-50km/h in any gear :(
Maybe the auto gives the illusion of better pull, or maybe 338Nm of torque is a lot more than 107Nm, but my car just feels more fun (when it works )
