Hey guys
I've just ordered and paid for all the bits needed to convert my EF 6 cyl auto to manual.
I'm going to get a mechanic to convert it for me, could anyone please tell me SIMPLY how to convert (step by step). So I can print it off and show him if he needs to know.
Also, how much should this cost me in labour?, I'm guessing $800?.

1: remove auto+flexplate

2: remove dash+ swap the gearshift surround etc

3: replace pedal box

4: run clutch cable through firewall

5: fit flywheel and clutch assembly

6: fit gearbox and check oil

7: refit dash

thats pretty much it i imagine - i dont know anything about the electrical side of things though.

hay loverboy ,
just woundering what u paid for the T5 and what did u get for trans as im trying to decide what to do upgrade to elxr6\auxr6 and work that or work my ef fairmont more, but i want a man and ive got an auto and its not handling the 180 kw. still got to chip,bigger cam, cold air.
Would be great if u can tell me the total cost in the end.

Hey mate.
I paid $1,100 for a complete manual conversion kit for my EF 6cyl.
And it looks like the labour to fit everything is going to cost me close to $1,000.
It should be getting fitted within the next couple of weeks.

I've heard Malwood sell a bolt for the clutch pedal pivot so u don't need to swap pedal boxes.

I'm thinking of doing exactly the same thing for my EF Futura, either that or a 3.9 diff or may be both :)

Where did you get all the bits? I think i can do the conversion myself as I changed a few gearboxes on my XF and EB.

Did you get the T5 or the Supra Turbo ? I think i can pick up the Supra Turbo complete set for under 2k, still under 2k but I'll be doing all the labour and the toyota box has a much shorter,precise,smooth feel
