Hi, I'm new to the forum since I'm not a Ford owner but I just got hold of this 9" rear end from a friend and I haven't been able to ID it. I read around a little
http://www.mustangsandmore.com/ubb/F...imensions.html and found info stating that a rear this length (58" across the backing plates with 2.5" extra either side with the axles = 63" ) is closest to a 67 fairlane rear but any photos i found of a fairlane rear has a different control arm setup. It looks like this one is a triangulated 4 link type and the fairlanes/torinos were 3 links with an extra, control arm bracket at the top near the pumpkin. is that correct? This rear has 28 spline axles (29.75 and 32.5 long), the big Torino style housing ends, drums and the offset hump in the back of the housing.
Anyone know what its from?
here are a few pics:
Thanks
Andy
