Hi all.

I have a 4 speed auto in my EB1 which refuses to shift into 3rd gear in power mode. I can back right off and it will hang in 2nd gear at 80km/h. If I flick the switch to ECONOMY it will change into 3rd gear but rather harshly, and only if I back off. If I keep driving with any throttle opening it will also stay in 2nd.

Any ideas? TPS? Inhibitor switch? S5 solenoid? Only guessing here!

The box changes into 4th and the convertor locks no problem.

I can't test it now because its sitting on the ground in my driveway pending the replies to this post. Its a great box and I'd like to keep it.

Does anyone know where to buy rebuild kits for the 4 speed autos? I'll grab a workshop manual and have a crack at it.

its not any easy job to rebuild a BTR... I'd say the solenoid is gone... maybe in your manual check for that shift solenoid and replace it
