Hi Stall converter in T3 TE50
Hi guys, i'm need some advice from people that have had experence with higher than std stall converter in road cars. I'm thinking of having the std converter modified to approx 2500rpm, which is a fairly easy mod so i'm led to believe.
I'm have been told if i want to go any higher in stall than that, say 2800rpm i will have to get a custom made converter using a smaller shell, as there is very little interest in modifing these btr converters. People tend to op for a different tran.
What are the pros/cons on having this done on a mainly road driven car with?
If i was driving the car in 60km speed limit area's with approx 2500rpm will the trans still lockup in fourth or will it slip?
Will the modified converter affect the ecu and send the car into limp mode or have other problems with trans shift pattern? (adaptive shift)
When does the T3's cam come on? 2800rpm?
thanks.
