i have an 03 xr6turbo ute with the sss auto. the only mods i have are kn filter and centre muffler removed. would changing my stall converter to a slightly higher one make much difference to performace with out any other mods so far. the reason for this is that when i launch my car stalling it up to 2200rpm it doesnt start to pull hard untill around 2800rpm so was thining maybe launching at closer to that would help alot. any ideas would be great. also how high should i go considering i want to drive it to work every day down the high way and rough costs. cheers people

I think it would wake it up heaps, I don't own one but the XR6 turbo's have heaps of grunt down low so you prob don't wanna go to high with the stall. You should consult someone who has a quick XR6 like redclife dyno or any other shop like that. A custom made converter can cost upwards of 1k but depend on what you won't.

i think it would be a good idea as if u put a high stall in u could take off closer to when it hits boost also another thing to do would be to add a shift kit and tranny cooler and then itll really wkae it up
