I need to tighten my steering wheel because its loose after i got it back from the wheel alignment place. Just wanna know how to go about it?

Cant remember exactly what they look like, but there may be some screws holding the steering wheel/horn cover on (look at back).

You'll then expose the column spline which the wheel sits on and the big bolt that holds it secure.

Some old ones just have a spongy boss cover in the middle that simply pulls off exposing the bolt.

OR.........

Take it to the wheel alignment guy and get him to do it. He may have removed it and put it on straight, without tightening the bolt enough.

Disconnect battery negative (this MUST be done unless u like sparks! lol). Push down on chrome horn ring assembly and turn it anticlockwise - it should then pop off under spring pressure from behind. Do it all inreverse to fit.

To remove the steering whhel, you will need a puller kit which should have the bolts to screw into the wheel's hub. NEVER try to knock the wheel off the spline with a hammer, as you will damage shaft, bearing or both.

Well i dont want to take the wheel off do i? I just want to tighten it...so if i take the horn ring off then can i just tighten it up with the right spanner/wrench?

Yep You'll need a socket to get into it.

Well i got the steering wheel tightened and its all good but i was just wondering if there was a certain amount which i should have tightened it to with a torque wrench or something like that?

If so, whats the value?

The book says 40-50 Nm.

Wiggle it quite firmly once tightened and make sure there's no play in it too. If its not quite tight you'll feel it moving slightly on the splines.
