Hey all my tranny in my car is playing funny buggers. Its not my Ford but a mitsubishi! I've already had the tranny rebuilt once, and its only been 60,000 kms since it happend. I'm seriously pissed off, the thought of paying another 2k is sending shivers down my spine!

My question is if i take the car into a tranny place how do i know what they are telling the truth? I mean theres no way for me to tell if it needs a total rebuild or something small which they charge me for the full rebuild anyway!

suggestions? I cant take it into multiple places can i as they have to open up the whole box to get a look right? Or am i missing something?

Take it to a couple of tranny joints, and see if they can collectively agree on the problem.

What about a second hand box?
