Well the f*cknut who sold me my Hurst Indy shifter didn't give me the little arms that bolt directly to the side of the box, and the standard ford ones don't fit. He also refuses to part with them because he "needs them for his new Shifter"
Assh*le.
Anyway I can't find anyone who stocks them or will have them inside a month... Anyone got any lying around? or Know where to get them?

I am not sure if the holes in them will be the same as with the hurst indy arms. I would query that before ordering them.

I've got a set of stock XA GT arms, but the Hurst definitly doesn't fit them..
I could always drill out the stock arms to suit..... but they're different lengths?

How much different are the lengths/bore hole size?

Can't say for 100% on arm lengths, but the hole sizes are out by about 1mm

I don't think the lengths of the factory vs ford arms is significant. The bends in them are different but his can be overcome by bending the linkage arms if necesssary.

Drilling out the arms should fix problem although it may remove any case hardening present.[IMG]G:\T&C TOPLOADER SHIFTER\P1010004.JPG[/IMG]


The location of the hurst shifter in relation to the box is likely to be your next biggest problem.

The image didn't come up.
The rods from the shifter do seem to fall in approximately the right spots, and the rods on the hurst are adjustable.
Oh well. time to break out the drill kit!

Hurst Indy Shifter

check out the pictures listed as links in the above topic. They are of a hurst indy shifter I modified with good results to replicate the original shifter. The handle is manufactured (same dimensions as original) but std handle would bolt on if you have one.

I have a scaled image of the backing plate if you need it which will allow you to correctly position shifter. Originally the supplied mount had it about 4+ inches forward and around 3 inchs to high. Absolutely useless. the linkage rods didn't need to be cut/welded but one needed slight bending.
