i think my torque converter may be dead
well the cars been sluggish since i got it and its gotten even worse in the last month, gearbox making a loud whine and all.
i always keep it full of tq95 and check the levels but it feels like when i put the foot down a bit, the cars moving slower than what it should for the revs its getting, plus the whine.
i tried going from 2nd down to 1st at about 40 and it just whined it ass off. the changes are smooth most of the time though and the whine happens in every gear, so im thinking torque converter.
please tell me its just the converter and not the box. what does a hi-stall cost if it is the converter?
