G'day I have just put in a borg warner 35 trans in my xm falcon from the original 3 on the tree manual. I have noticed it is leaking a fair bit of oil, in numerous places by the looks. Some from the sump pan gasket and some comming out of the bellhousing by the looks. Is this a big job too fix the leaks and does the box have to be pulled out of the car to fix the leaks? I know it is a fairly hard question to answer without actually knowing where it is leaking from. Another question when you put a box in for a service do they replace gaskets which might hopefully fix my leaks.

they will replace the sump gasket only if you have it serviced, dont get it serviced unless it needs to be adjusted, do the gasket yourself if you can.

that box can prove to be unreliable in anything but very mild conditions.

It sounds like your front seal is leaking this would neccesitate removing the box if thats the problem, cant be sure from here tho.
