As some of you's know, I broke an axle last week, and now im going to throw the minispool and replace it with something more practical. Also upgrading to 31 spline superior axles.
I was considering an LSD, but apparently they don't like doing a lot of burnouts etc... so the next alternative is a locker.
Have any of you's had any experiences with lock right lockers?
(Im not after any info on operation and how they will click around corners etc, im more after feedback on reliability, quality etc of the centre)

The car is street driven regularly, and currently has a minispool, which was the likely primary cause of an axle failure last week. I need something that will allow me to go around corners. Burnouts usually done down the drags, and with big tyres, I don't think the LSD would stand up too well in the long term.

Yeah, but i already have, and don't want a spool.
Currently with the minispool, and 255's at the back, cornering is real bad, tearing 5hit out of the tyres. Billet axles or not, there is a LOT of load on the when cornering, therefore by going a locker, this is eliminated. Not to mention the car always wants to go straight with the spool.

I can sympathise with you and your spool. I have one fitted to my P76 and it's a real pain to drive on the street for all the reasons you mentioned. I too looked into lock-rite centres and put my name down to get one. That was over 6 months ago. Apparantly, they only make a batch when they get a certain number of orders and as there isn't much call for 25 spline BW lokka's, I could be waiting for a while. They do sound good though, however, most models use the existing side gears, so (in my case) this would still be a real weak link, especially when 'locked' as I am stripping the splines off single wheeler diffs now. I'd pay for a good LSD if I were you (Lokka's aren't cheap anyway, nearly $600). It should last a while.

Yeah, after speaking to a few places that have sold lockright centres, I won't be getting one of them. Under moderate power levels, they can strip the teeth off them (9" version has side gears supplied) or they are also known for shearing the pin, especially if you have a shift kit.
Hence, I have made my descision, and have ordered a US Gear Torq Line 9" LSD Centre.

hey there. my mate has a detroit locker in his ute with 18s and 235 series tyres it only locks when parking and and slow driving in 1st gear but normal driving is all good! and isnt locked in reverse!
