Can anyone tell me what the lowest available diff gears are availble for EF XR8. I understand they have 3:45 (Mines a Manual)at the moment but was wanting either some 3:9 or 4:11.

I understand Ford probably never made these so where do we go about getting lower gears from? or better still if anyone has any let me know.

You can get 3.7, 3.91, 4.11. A speedo gear is available for 3.7, beyond that you will need an electronic corrector box.

These ratios are available in a Nissan Pintara, which used the same B/W diff. You will only need the crownwheel and pinion.

If a drive is available for the 3.7, Woohoo, 3.7 it is. :D

Your current diff would be a 3.27 ratio, it wasnt until the ELII that the manual 8s got 3.45. (other than the Sprint)

The VL standard auto non trb has 3.45.
R31 Skyline auto has 3.9, and manuals have 3.7.

The gears are dirt cheap from wreckers, just have to get them onto a carrier for your diff.

All I'm gonna tell you is that with 3.7, 3.9, or 4.11, your gonna have a hard time getting the thing off the line... should be good fun mate
