My uncle owns a LS8 and is complaining about the hesitation of the transmission. I have read numerous complaints about this problem and it looks like Ford/Lincoln is not doing anything to remedy it.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips/solutions to fix this. I was thinking of a Peformance Chip and/or a Shift Kit. Not sure who makes them for this car.
You should make sure that your uncle has the latest re-flash for his transmission. I know that this has been a problem in the past, but the latest re-flash makes a world of difference. The TSB for the re-flash is 01-01-05.
Like I said before, the re-flash makes a huge change in performance of the transmission.
Your uncle might want to keep an eye on the LS Club web site at, http//www.llsoc.com. They generally do a great job keeping the LS enthusiasts informed.
Summit racing has a website where they have shift kits for the different automatic trans. I think the cheapest is BMM-40262 about $29. Try doing a Key Word search for Lincoln at http://store.summitracing.com/ It will at least let you know there is help out there.
