There seem to be a fair few knowledgeable people on here for diff internals, so I thought some of you may be able to help me.

I have a VL n/a 25 spline o/c diff in my VH. I want to upgrade it to LSD, and I've been told that the best source for LSD parts in 25 spline are XE-EB ford, and some valiant diffs.

What would be the best diff to get the centre and side gears for LSD to suit my diff? I wish to keep my 3.45:1 ratio for now.

Well the best Falcon diffs would be from early model XR6's , but I think they are actually 28 spline? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Those XR6 diffs most probably are 28 spline, so they won't help me :(

Can anyone list the cars that had bw78 diffs that came out in 25 spline and lsd?

I'm sure the list would help many people on here too!

I found a skyline diff at the wreckers that was 3.7 lsd, and they wanted 175 without the discs, does that sound good for the conversion?

To my knowledge all skylines are 28 spline. The pintaras are 25 spline, but never had LSD. Just get a 28 spline one converted back to 25, that way you also have four pin instead of two.

what did the VLs have? surely you could put in a LSD from a VL - im pretty sure all the 6cyl ones all have 3.45 diffs, so you could just swap the centers? or if they are 28 spline then swap centers and axles, therefore scoring a stronger diff at the same time?

You can get EA LSD in 25 spline as in some fairmonts/fairlanes. A mate of mine put the whole diff in his xf.

Yep, but these seem to be way overpriced, and rare (as more and more clueless VL hordes buy them up) :(

I was looking in to the ford lsds because they seem to be more common and more reasonably priced. A few people in NSW say that older (xe/xf) falcon lsd diffs are going for $100 from wreckers - that would be nice if there were places in QLD that would do the same price!
