Thanks for those links, but they all have conflicting advice in them (its easy / it's too hard, need a new computer / the auto comp should do it etc). I'll have to talk to a few places around brisbane and find out a bit more advice

The auto ECU will run the car with a manual, however, there may be some idle speed problems.
Save your self the trouble, and spend the $50 on getting a manual ECU.
