Modifying your T5

I wanted to modify my 2.95 t5 spec transmission's 5th gear to a .59 overdrive since I have a 3.73 rear end. This gear set is 59 and 27 teeth and needs to fit Ford 28 spline shaft. I have searched the internet for weeks and found 'new gear sets' that set you back quite a bit. What would be nice is to start a thread that includes t5 parts that can be interchanged to different years to gain certain advantages. I could not locate such a thread on the internet. It would be cool if some of these are 'boneyard finds' for modifying.

To make this work properly, please list as much info about your t5 so that individuals will not be mis-guided for fitment. Please do not forget to list WC vs Non-WC and countershaft gear ratios, spline input and output, ect.

Here is my start at the list:

Steel front input shaft bearing retainer:

Ford T5 transmissions 1982-1993
Ford T5 transmissions 1994-up

Billet Insert 3-4 keys replaces the weak stamped steel keys. This should fit all t5's.

Bronze fork pads fit all t5's in the 1-2 ; 3-4; and the 5th gear locations.

Bronze shifter cup which replaces the week plastic one. Fits all t5's.

Billet steel cluster support plate: replaces weaker stamped steel plate and allows you to set cluster preload to 2lbs (I think).

Swapping 3.35 to 2.95 WC gear set clusters for 82-93 WC Ford V8 transmissions or any GM WC with Ford bolt pattern to obtain z spec 330ft lbs of torque. 2.95 1st 1.94 2nd 1.34 3rd 1 4th and .63 5th
You need
1st gear Tremec #1352-080-031
2nd gear Tremec #1352-080-028
3rd gear Tremec #1352-083-002
input shaft will vary for model Ford Mustang 5.0 will use Tremec #1352-085-020 and 15 rollers and non tapered bearing
cluster Tremec #1352-077-070

Who else can add to this?
