i got and 87 bronco fullsize. i blew the stock 302. ive got an extra 351m that i think is either out of an 77 or 78 t-bird. will the c-6 tranny out of the bronco bolt up to the 351? i figured it would but im not sure and in my situation right now i cant match them up and see. so i wandered if any one knew off the top of their heads. so i could see if i need to get something else .thanks

The C6 came out in 1966, since then you can find the C6 in three different bell paterns:

Smallblock-289,300,302,351w,351c,ect

FE block-360,390,391,427,428,ect

Bigblock-429,460,351m,400

In short no you will not be able to just toss it in. The bolt pattern IS different.

well the c-6 is off of a 302, so if u say all the small blocks are one pattern, then shouldnt it work with a 351 small block?

The 351C uses the Small Block (289/302) bellhousing bolt pattern.

The 351M uses the Big Block (429/460) bellhousing bolt pattern, with the exception of a fairly rare 1973 block.

Did you get the swop done? The reson I ask is I am in the same spot but I have a 88 bronco with 302 and wont to go to a 460 that I have in storage. Maby you can let me know what I can do. I have ben told that there are kits you can get but I can't find a place that has kits for small block to big block swops..........
