As a rough guess how much $$'s in involved in switching my AU XR6 Auto to be a 5 Speed.

Also what needs to be done, is it as straight forward as taking about the auto box and cutting holes for the 3rd pedal and then putting it all back in.

im pretty sure you need a manual ecu as well and not sure if they are hydrolic or cable but if they hydrolic you have to put that gear in like the clutch fluid cylinder and lines and everything. dont count me on it this is just what ive heard cause im interested at doing it one day to but i only got a au2 forte. not sure but the tailshaft might have to be changed to, plus your center console to a manual one, not sure if the gear changer comes through in the same place or not.

You'd have to use an AU box if you used a T5. The AU box is longer, the shifter's further back. Anything earlier wouldn't fit.
I shudder to think what an AU T5 would cost....probably just as cheap to use a T56 or something similar at about $7k. Whether or not that would fit I don't know, talk to Tremec I guess. Another name to try would be Mal Wood I believe, for the supply of this box.
The auto ECU can be fooled into thinking the box is permanently in N so as to rule out idle issues.
AFAIK it's still a cable clutch. Gearstick surround is different but the console should be the same, it is in all earlier models. Pedal box can probably be modified by adding a bit of rod for a pivot and cutting down a brake pedal.
