i have 1994 explorer, w/bad transmission, i have a 95 tranny would it work in a 94 and does anyone know what issues would need to be adressed.

both have 4.0 litre 6cyl. both are automatic, i understatnd that the 95 may be electronic transmission

The transmission in a 1994 explorer is and a4ld and the 95 and up trans is a 4R44E. the 4R44E has shift solenoids while the A4Ld just has and electronic lock up torgue converter, but most of the insides of the trans interchange if some hard parts broke. But you could get a overhaul kit fairly cheap for the A4Ld. theyare a easy trans to overhaul
