people im just wondering about the six speed box coming in baII and could one of these boxes be transplanted in early xr6t i know it should fit but i dont know if it runs a computer or if it would bugger the speedo.any thoughts??

Mal Wood (07 4661 3548) has already done the Tremec 6 speed conversion in an AU. I think it was written up in Performance Ford a while back. I believe it required some work around the exhausts and some changes to the shifter

According to this months Wheels - the Ford box will have a set of ratios similar to the Cobra R and won't be as tall in 6th as the box fitted to the Commodores

You are looking at over $8000 but from the people that I know who have done it, they all say it's worth the money.

Then again, what do you want 6 gears for? It's bad enough getting through 5!

IMO only trucks need 6 gears.

LOL, you probably have the roads and speed limits to get to use it.

In Sydney, I'm lucky to get out of 3rd.

My parents only use the 6th in their 200sx when they hit the freeway to visit me.

around town I only get it into 3rd if I am lucky. I only get it up into 6th when I am flying between Dallas and Waco.
