Just had a 15,000 km service done and asked the dealer to check out a vibration at 90-110 km/hr. When I went to pick the car up, was told that it was a driveline problem, the driveshaft wouldn't balance and they'd ordered a new driveshaft for me!

I've seen a few threads on this, but does anyone know what causes the BA driveshaft problems? Is this likely to recur at some time in the future?

XR6 should have alloy one piece. They are absolute rubbish, same as they were in AU. One stone dent, one compression lock up, and they can be damaged.

New driveshaft fitted 2 weeks ago. Big improvement - can now drive at 100 km/hr without annoying vibration. BUT car is now so smooth over 110 km/hr that I often don't know how fast I'm going without checking the speedo. At least radar detectors are still legal in NZ
