Hey People

I have a 99XH falcon ute... It has an open wheel diff, i have been given a LSD diff out of an XG XR6 and wanted to know what sort of price im looking at in getting it fitted?

Got quoted $250 off a local mechanic and felt it may be a little steepfor a swap over?

if you have a set of tools and are mechanically minded do it yourself. its alot cheaper.

Im a 3rd air/con mechanic apprentice and pretty good with tools and was told it can be an absolute pain to do and if not done right could screw it up?

If it isn't too hard i will give it a crack maybe a lil more advice or tips would be great?

does your XH have ABS. If it does the XG diff may not be compatible.

Nope has no abs...

Does that mean it would be easy enough for me to do a swap myself...?

Any tips i could be given?

Ok,
the easiest way is to not disconnect the brakes, saves on rebleeding.
Also drop the springs from the rear hangers, saves trying to manhandle the diff over the spings.

Here is an email address, this guy has a tech article [ i cant find it or I would simply give you the address to the page ] that shows what needs to be done.
